How does myCert charge its customers?
Apart from our free plan, we offer different annual subscription plans, where customers can choose to be charged on a monthly or yearly basis.
Our pricing model is mainly based on the number of certificates you issue during a billing year.
Do you offer a free trial?
We do not offer a time-bound free trial; however, we offer a Free plan which lets you issue a limited number of certificates and have access to the core features of the software, which are also available on the paid plans.
Can I change my plan later?
Before you commit to a specific paid plan, you should know on average how many certificates you’re planning to issue in one billing year, and select the plan that suits your needs. In any case, you can downgrade or upgrade at the end of the billing year.

In case you have reached your limit, you can continue to issue certificates and pay an additional fee of € 0.99 per extra certificate issued, billed at the end of the month. If you are not sure which plan is right for you, please get in touch with us!
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes, for annual payments you get a 15% discount on all plans.
Moreover, if you issue more than 30,000 certificates / year, you become eligible for our ‘Enterprise Unlimited’ plan and thus get a special offer depending on your needs and requirements.
What plan is best suited for me?
We created the myCert plans to satisfy the needs of a diverse customer base, from small training providers to large Maritime Administrations.
If you are a small-to-medium-sized business (SMB) you will most likely fall under either the Basic or Business plan, depending on how many
certificates you are planning to issue.
If you are a large organization like a Maritime Administration or Crew/Ship Management company, then the Enterprise plan might better suit you.
What happens if I fall between the plans?
If you are planning to issue a number of certificates that is either above or below the available plans, then you have two options:
  1. Choose a lower plan and once the limit is reached you simply pay a fixed fee of € 0.99 per extra certificate issued.
  2. You can choose the next higher available plan, so you can sit back, relax and never worry about your limit.

What happens if I reached my limit before the end of the billing year?
You will still be able to issue certificates, but you will be charged a fixed fee of € 0.99 per extra certificate issued.
What if I decide to cancel?
If you no longer wish to use myCert, you may cancel at any time. If you don’t want to pay anymore, you can downgrade to a free plan and still have access to your account. We never want our customers to feel cheated by paying for myCert.

If you've purchased an annual agreement with annual payment within the past 30 days and want to cancel, we'll offer you a full refund.

If you’ve purchased an annual agreement with monthly payments, you can cancel at any time without the need to pay the remaining amount, as long as at the time of cancellation, the number of certificates issued is equal or less than the average number of certificates you can issue each month (formula: number of certificates allowed to issue according to the plan / 12).
As an example, if you have purchased the Business 8000 plan which allows you to issue up to 8,000 certificates per year, but decide to cancel after 2 months,
you can do so without paying the remaining amount for the rest of the year, as long as the number of certificates issued after 2 months is equal or less than 1,334
((8,000 / 12) x 2).
If you issued more, we will charge you a fee of € 0.99 per extra certificate.
What does the number of certificates represent?
Up to how many certificates you can issue in one billing year. If you choose the ‘Basic - 1000’ plan, then you can issue up to 1000 certificates / year.
Re-issues of certificates due to mistakes or corrections for the same recipient are free of charge, therefore not counted as “Issued certificates”.
Can you charge me in my local currency?
No, at the moment we only accept payments in Euro (EUR).
How many certificate recipients (holders) can I add?
Any plan allows you to add in myCert as many recipients as you like.
What is counted as an issued certificate?
As an example, the ‘Basic 1000’ plan allows you to issue up to 1,000 certificates per year. If you issue 100 certificates (even to the same person), then you will have 900 issuances left. If for some reasons you have issued a number of certificates and then want to revoke and re-issue them again, then this will not count as a new issuance as long as you re-issue them to the same recipients, within the current billing year.
Therefore, re-issuances for the same person in the current billing year are free of charge.
How can a 3rd Party verify a certificate?
All third parties can verify the authenticity and validity of certificates issued by you by using our online Verification Portal.
Can I get an export of all the certificates issued and recipients data added, before I close my account?
Yes, we will export all the certificates you issued (in PDF format) and the recipients' data, so you can have access to them even though you are not using myCert anymore.
